Starting counselling / psychotherapy can seem a big step, but once you have taken it you may well experience, like many others, a rewarding feeling of relief. Almost always it is a relief to engage with what is wrong. Don't put it off. Going on as you have been is probably not a good idea. Obey the impulse to call now for an appointment. I will respond quickly to your email or phone call / message. There is no waiting list. A referral from a GP is not needed.
No limit to the number of sessions you can have. If you suspect that your difficulties are going to require a lot of work over a long time then you can start in the certain knowledge that no pre-determined limit is to be imposed at which time you would have to start with someone new.
Personal development. Need some input now because your life is not where you wanted it to be by this time? At work perhaps you are not meeting your own goals and would like to look at why? Counselling helps you explore difficulties. With a counsellor on your side, you'll get a fresh view and a boost to your motivation. Having worked in that way, you stand the best chance of making decisions that will set you heading in the right direction. You will be glad you made the investment.
Easy introduction. Arrange just one meeting as a way of getting answers to your questions about counselling and you will also get a first impression as to whether a working relationship is likely to form between us. Decide to continue and we will already be on our way.
My hours of work include, besides 9 to 5, evenings and Saturday to make it as convenient as possible for you. I do not work on Wednesday and Sunday.
I work in Wimbledon, London, SW19. Parking is free most of the time. Between 11 and 3 on weekdays a permit is required, which I can provide on the day for £1.50. I am very close to Southfields and Earlsfield. There are public transport links to Kingston, Richmond, Central London, and West London, among other places.
Wheelchair accessible premises.
Taking time for yourself - reflecting, analysing and changing.
